PARTS OF SPEECH


The word is a picture of one or more sound / noise that can be said to describe an idea, object, action, and others. The word is the smallest unit of spoken language, which has a meaning, and can stand alone. He is a sign that is spoken, written, or symbol of an idea. Word is a term, oral expression, and observation. Words have weight, depth, dimension, and direction.
In English, the word divide into several types / classes according to function and the work they do in a sentence. Type or class of words is called "Parts Of Speech". They are
1.       Noun
2.      Adjective
3.      Pronoun
4.      Verb
5.      Adverb
6.      Preposition
7.      Conjunction
8.      Interjection

1.   Noun
Noun is a word we use to name a person, place, object, character, idea, or deed. Nouns are words used as names of people, animals or places. He is a name, such as :
Charles is a prince.
Jakarta is a big city.
Note:
1.  Noun includes all objects that may or may not be experienced by our senses.
2. Noun can be used as subject or object of a verb or as object of a preposition.

2. Adjective
Adjective is a word limit, giving the nature (or, to add something of meaning) to the noun or pronoun. Adjective tells more information / about nouns, such as:
We are honest.
Note :
A, an, and the article referred to, but these are really adjectives. Adjective describes a noun or pronoun.

3.Pronoun
Pronoun is a word used in place of a noun or noun phrase.
Agnes did not attend school yesterday because she was ill.
In the sentence, She is used as a pronoun for Agnes. Other pronoun is I, We, You, They, He, She, It, Me, Us, Them, etc

4. Verb
Verb is a word or group of words used in describing an act, experience, or circumstances. The verb is parts of speech that express action or living circumstances. It is a word that says what someone or something to do and tell us what someone or something natural, something to do with it. Verb also said something about a person, place, or thing, such as:

The boy wrote a letter to his father.
The bell rang.

5. Adverb
Adverb is a word or group of words that describe or add meaning or limit verbs, adjectives, adverbs another, or a whole sentence.
She answered softly.
Budi is very pleasant boy.
Agnes reads quite clearly.
Note :
-         Sometimes adverb can delimit the phrase or clause.
A word is hanging exactly over his head.
-         Sometimes adverb can delimit the overall sentence. Adverbs are at the beginning of the sentence.
Fortunately, she passed the examination.

6. Preposition
Preposition is a word placed before a noun or pronoun that is used with a noun, pronoun, or a form of "ing" to indicate its relationship with some other words in the sentence. He is a word that connects nouns and pronouns to other words.
For example  
The pencil is on the table.
She is in the room.
Note :
Preposition is not used in front of the infinitive or clauses that begin with that.

7. Conjunction
The conjunction is a word used to connect words or sentences. He is conjunctive. It connects two words, phrases, clauses, or sentences, such as:

Agnes and Nelly are sisters.

8.   Interjection
Interjection is a word that expresses the sudden feelings of the mind / of a sudden. Interjection is usually just a scream, the sound / voice of someone saying when he's excited, angry, excited, nervous, and others.
Great! They have succeeded
Interjection is not connected with other words in the sentence, but it stands alone.
Interjection is not an essential part of the parts of speech.
